How we Flow

Yoga at Vidya

At Vidya, our instructors are expertly trained to deliver signature classes featuring a unique sequence of over 100 yoga asanas. This distinctive approach, combined with our instructors’ skillful cueing and sequencing, ensures the consistency and high quality of every class at VY&F. We require our instructors to maintain a regular in-studio practice, believing that this commitment enhances their teaching. While we follow a set format, each class remains fresh and unique, offering a varied experience every time you join us.

We offer a fresh perspective on Vinyasa Yoga. Founders Ashley and Nate Davis, inspired by the transformative benefits of hot yoga, set out to create a hot yoga and boutique fitness studio in Northeast Tennessee. Our vision is to deliver a unique fitness experience that combines challenge with approachability. We celebrate every individual who joins us, recognizing their dedication to improving their health and fitness. Our goal is to provide a supportive environment where everyone feels empowered and motivated to reach their wellness goals.

Got Questions?

What Class Should I take?

We have all been the new person in class.

We have also had the experience of not knowing what to expect, where to go, and what to do. We expect that those new to VY&F will not know some of the terminology, yoga poses or cues. It’s ok. There is no judgement whatsoever.

We recommend that you go at your own pace, take breaks and observe some, if desired.

Having an open mind about your first experience at VY&F is a great way to start your yoga journey.

What should I eat before class?

We recommend not eating anything heavy within 2 hours of class. You will feel better in your flow! Make sure to hydrate and bring water with you!

What should I wear to class?

What should I wear to class?

We recommend wearing athletic clothing. No shoes are allowed in the Hot Yoga and Barre rooms.

If I’m not flexible, can I still do yoga?

ABSOLUTELY. Forget what you have seen on social media about yoga. On any given day, you will find varying degrees of flexibility, fitness and size in any yoga class. Your flexibility will improve with a consistent yoga practice. Trust the process!

What should I do if I have an injury?

We recommend that all participants have full medical clearance before attending any class at VY&F. If you are starting a new exercise or fitness routine and you are injured or pregnant, please check with your primary health care provider for guidance. Please inform your instructor at the beginning of class if you have an injury.

What should I expect in my first yoga class?

Come with an open mind and expect that many of the yoga poses will be new to you. Many people are surprised by the temperature and humidity in the room. Most participants find that they get more used to the heat after 5-10 classes in a short period of time. You will start all classes with a warm-up. Our classes are based on cues, not demonstration. You will learn to understand the cues and can watch other participants for guidance.

Where should I put my belongings?

We have cubies outside the studio spaces. Please leave valuables in your car or at home. We are not responsible for stolen items.

What should I bring to class?

We recommend bringing water and/or electrolyte replacement to class. Also bring a large towel, yoga mat and hand towel to yoga classes. Mats are provided in barre classes. Yoga mats and yoga towels are available for rent at the front desk.
